How do SMS Short Codes work?
SMS Short Code competitions are run off a 5 digit number that works across all mobile networks: Vodacom, MTN, CellC and Telkom Mobile.
Entrants simply send in an SMS and receive an automatic and custom reply SMS confirming their entry.
For mobile competitions the cost to the consumer cannot be more than R1,50 per SMS. This is in accordance with the CPA. (Consumer Protection Act)
