Vodacom Red Alert makes use of USSD as a donation line for international emergencies such as the Haiti earthquake disaster, Japan earthquake and Somalia food disaster.
Vodacom subscribers wishing to donate can dial in and choose an amount they wish to donate.
We then use EBS (Event Billing) to debit the users cell phone account. Once the debit transaction has been completed, the user is sent an SMS to confirm and thank them for their donation.
You can try the service by dialling *120*243# from your mobile phone.

To donate R10.00 via SMS, key in “Give” and send to 38207
